March
2004
Dear
Saints,
For
me to tell all that transpired in the last three months would take a small book,
so here is a quick run down:
1. A female student at the
University
of Central
Florida
in
Orlando
prayed for
salvation.
2. A Jewish male student at
the
University
of South
Florida
in
Tampa
prayed for
salvation.
3. On January
28, 2004,
I was honored to speak in Dr. Wayne Messer’s
Psychology class at
Berea
College in
Berea,
Ky.
on the topics of “The Scopes Trial” and “Creation vs. Evolution.”
4. I became aware of the fact
that I was featured in a full color picture, on page
three, under the heading, “The
University Experience” in Florida
State
University’s
2000-2001 “General Bulletin”
student class schedule catalogue.
5.
I became the first preacher to
legally preach, within the last fifteen years or so
on Valdosta
State
University’s campus thanks to Attorney Nate Kellum’s
attack on VSU’s illegal policy.
6. I helped coordinate the logistics for Brother Freddie and Sister
Shirley Lester's three hundred man
assault on San Francisco's Court House Steps.
7.
On March 9-12, I joined five other preachers in Boston,
Mass.
for a
preaching rally at the
Mass.
State
House where approximately 1500 people gathered to speak out on the issue
of homosexual marriages.
8. On March 29, I attended a
homo rally at the State Capital in
Frankfort
,
Ky.
First and foremost, the best news is the two known salvations stated above.
The female student was an admitted lustful pothead.
Over the weekend the Holy Ghost dealt with her and on the following
Monday she surrendered her will to God’s will.
The Jewish male was a breath of fresh air.
He approached Matt Bourgault and me with very serious questions regarding
the Old Testament prophesies of the then coming Messiah.
I would quote or read a prophesy, then elaborate on it and as soon as I
would finish my exposition he would beg, “Please tell me another one.”
After about ten or more prophesies, I discerned that God had and was
opening his eyes to the fact that Jesus was indeed the promised Jewish Messiah
so I stopped opening the scriptures and asked him if he wanted to pray and ask
Jesus Christ to forgive him of his sins. He
did and he gloriously found his Messiah. This
is the first time that I can remember leading a Jew to the Lord.
On
January
28, 2004
,
Dr. Wayne Messer a professor of Psychology at
Berea
College
in
Berea
,
Ky.
arranged for me to speak to his students for one hour and twenty minutes
regarding the topic of the “Scopes Trial” and “Creation v. Evolution.”
Accompanied by Pastor Jeff Osborn, I found Dr. Messer, a theistic
evolutionist, to be most cordial and professional by his
extension of total academic freedom towards me and in how he conducted
his class that day. I started with
the Trial Court’s transcript of record for the examination of William Jennings
Bryan by Clarence Darrow. As I read
from the transcript, I interjected and expounded on Bible passages from both the
Old and New Testament. As I was
teaching the Biblical account of creation I could not help but to thank God for
giving me this great window of opportunity.
A
long standing prayer was answered when I was allowed to preach once again on the
campus of
Valdosta
State
University
.
I preached on that campus quite a bit back in the eighties and it was
always one of the most violent campuses in the country.
About fifteen years ago, VSU changed their policy to where only
“invited” guests could speak on campus.
Several years ago, Donnie Morris and Matt Bourgault, along with the help
of Attorney Nate Kellum, legally challenged VSU’s illegal policy in Federal
Court. Last October, VSU withdrew
their “invitation” requirement. I
returned in February and was the campus turned upside down.
I was there for five days straight and for the last three days there were
up to two hundred students waiting for me to arrive each day.
Special thanks to Pastor Franklin McDaniel, Frankie McDaniel, Scott and
Shanna Smith, Rocky Hacianna, David Scott, Dave Salter, and Anthony Kazell for
coming with me to campus.
Regarding
the homo rallies, I will let the newspaper articles speak for themselves.
We
thank you for your love and prayers,
Brother
Jim, Sister Bonnie, Aaron, Gabrielle, and Arielle
