June 2001
Dear Saints,
We
thank you for your prayers over the last several months regarding my father’s
bout with cancer. He passed away on
June the 7th. I was
privileged to help preach his funeral.
Please pray for my surviving mother.
We
had a most pleasant surprise this past March.
Bro. Donnie Morris, age 18, from Wrightsville, Ga., told us that he has
known for the last five years that God has called him to be a Campus/Open Air
preacher. Since he has made his calling
public, the Lord has put a fervent zeal in his heart to reach the lost. He has spent many nights this spring
preaching outside of Bars and at other outdoor functions. He has encountered persecution from the good
ole “Bible Belt,” “Christian” red necks there in Georgia, and has not wavered
but contrariwise endured such as a good soldier. We are coordinating our schedules in order to preach together
this fall. Please pray with Bro. Donnie
regarding his work schedule as he is contemplating going full time this fall.
This
past January, sister Delacruz, from Corpus Christie, Texas, gave us a copy of
her testimony that was produced by Pacific Garden Mission’s “Unshackled”
dramatization staff. I had often thought of sending “Unshackled” my written
testimony. Encouraged by sister
Delacruz’s outcome, I sent my testimony to “Unshackled.” I was amazed at their prompt response and
detailed guidelines for the submittal of my testimony. For example, they want a written statement
from me on whether or not I currently “smoke,” “drink alcohol,” and “live a
Godly life.” If I am divorced, they
want an explanation. They also not only
want my home Church information but five other personal references. Since March, they have corresponded twice
through written letters and twice via telephone. Please pray that God would mightily use my testimony on
“Unshackled.” From all that I can
gather, they want as many people as possible to send in their testimonies.
We
won another Court battle this spring. Thanks
to the help of Attorney James Elsman, the University Of West Florida in Pensacola, Fl., dropped their bogus
charges against me. Last December,
during Al Gore’s attempt to steal the White House, I dared to preach in the
State of Florida with my Bush/Cheney bumper stickered briefcase. I did not even preach half an hour until a
Campus Security Officer arrested me for wire-tapping?? That was a first!! He told me that I could not tape record myself while I was
preaching. The University of Western
Florida must have been
hard up for help when they hired that Bubba.
We
thank you for your love and prayers.
